Four Casual Chic Christmas Outfits
Festive holiday attire does not have to be fussy! Dare I say that your holiday outfits for the season can really be broken down into minimalist pieces? Pieces that can be worn year after year and still manage to look fresh and festive! While it can be fun to find that standout outfit for your holiday parties each season, I often find that the more “standout” it is, the more reluctant I will be to take it out the following year.
When pulling together what to wear each season, I think about what are the events I often go to. Holiday luncheons, theatre performances, intimate dinners and jaunts into the city mostly. A festive cocktail party might make it on the list. But for the most part, I need pieces that are effortless and versatile. Pieces that work interchangeably with one another.
I think about colors and fabrics. Reds, greens, rich and neutral tones; and luxury fabrics such as velvet and silk. I find that the following pieces are perfect holiday attire items that work year after year:
- Velvet Top
- Silk or Satin Shirt
- Sequin Top
- Black Pants
- Red Pants
- Black Heels
- Dressy Jumpsuit
- Suede Boots
- Statement Earrings
I am also at the point where I have to be comfortable no matter what the occasion or season. Put together yes, but still feeling good (literally!) in what I have on! So I thought I would share four casual holiday party outfits for this season (and the next and the next!).
I shopped my closet for most of these looks but I did pull in a few new pieces I know I can work into future holiday seasons!
Dressy Jumpsuit
Jumpsuit (mine sold out but I love this option and this option // Black Heels here // Earrings here
I bought this jumpsuit last year and I love the fact that I can bring it out during the holiday season. Being a huge fan of the “one and done” concept of a jumpsuit, it really is the perfect piece for staying comfortable yet pulled together for the holidays. If you are hosting during the season, it is such an easy piece to throw on. Simply change it up each season with a statement earring or fun shoe!
Satin Button Down and Black Pants
Green Satin Button Down here // Black Pants here // Black Heels here // Earrings here
I have a couple of velvet button downs in my closet from previous years but I really wanted to add a satin button down into my holiday attire rotation as well. I just love how satin drapes and breathes. This green satin shirt looks nice either tucked in or tucked out! As far as these black pants go, I really have been in the market for an easy, versatile pair. These ones are fabulous! Extremely comfortable, flattering and with just a little bit of sheen and flare, they make for a perfect dressy casual pant!
Sequin Top and Dressy Denim
Sequin Top here // Denim here // Boots sold out but designer similar here // Earrings here
Can you even do the holidays without something sequin? Of course you can but it is sure fun to have a sequin top on hand! I like pairing a sequin top with dressier denim. It is such a fun combo for heading out to dinner during the holidays! My navy sequin top is SO comfy and under $30 on sale! (but only a few sizes left!). As for the denim, I swoon over them! The slits on the inside make them so unique while adding a dressier feel to them! And of course I am a huge fan of this designer! A standout boot is always a good idea and I invested (for the tune of $80!) in these navy suede boots last year!
Velvet Top and Edgy Denim
Velvet Top here but other colors and more sizes here and here // Denim here // Black Heels here // Earrings here
As I mentioned I already have a few velvet button downs in my closet but I was really drawn to this top for its statement sleeves. If there is such thing as the perfect amount of pouf on the shoulder then this top has it! Plus I love the gathered sleeves and neckline. It is such a pretty and feminine fit that I love pairing with my favorite pair of edgier denim!
I also want to take a moment to declare my love for the black heels I have featured throughout these looks! Truly the perfect black heel! They have a little hint of gold at the base of the heel for an added dressy touch! Plus they are very comfortable and affordable (they look A LOT more expensive then they are!)
