Who is ready for spring break?! A big hand raised over here! Just about every single year we head to the same destination, Vero Beach, Florida. My parents have a home there and we have been going since Robert was six months old! It is so nice to continually return to a place where so many memories are made. It is also such a special part of Florida in my opinion! The closest major airport is over an hour and a half away so there is not a huge crowd that infiltrates this area. Sorry, college students! I am mostly referring to you!
When it comes to spring break packing for Florida, I tend to pack light. I find that we mostly are in our swimsuits by day and loungewear by night. However, my packing list also needs to include looks and outfits for those times we head out to dinner or into town (I love shopping in Vero!) And let’s be honest, we are all excited to put on fresh summer clothes after a long winter season! So I thought I would put together a spring break checklist for those of you heading to sunnier destinations. Otherwise, look at it as a way to get started on summer shopping!

Beach Bags
Nothing says spring break like a great beach bag! The one requirement I have is that it can hold a lot! These are all a nice size and can serve as your travel tote too! I perhaps mostly love this more sophisticated version of a fisherman’s bag. What I like most about the fisherman style is that it expands as you need it! I have had this one for a few years now as a very cost friendly option!
Dresses
I had the worst time looking for a fresh maxi dress before I left for Mexico this past February. Since then though, I have fallen in love with a few maxi dresses. I have shared this Amazon find before but it is worth sharing again! The print is so pretty and the price point is so friendly! I have the longer version of this dress in red. I love everything this designer does! All her pieces are made with the most comfortable fabric and flattering cuts! I love that this one is a slight nod to the tie-dye trend but subtle enough to keep in your closet in future seasons!
Bathing Suits
Bathing suits are often seen as a more personal item with personal preference! However I have worn this same two-piece for close to five years now so I always will recommend it! It has held up so well for so long without any stretching or color fading! If you haven’t already checked out J.Crew’s selection of bathing suits, they have a great collection of colors, patterns and styles right now! I feel they always aim to fit a woman’s body! In terms of a one-piece suit, I find this one absolutely stunning! But for a collection as a whole, this is the swimwear line I turn to again and again.
Bottoms
I am just going to share a few here but I strongly believe in all three! If you have yet to get your hands on a pair of these denim shorts, you need to hurry and get them. They are just about sold out on Nordstrom and Shopbop but Evereve still has a great range of sizes! I love the Point Sur collection from J. Crew. These shorts are an easy throw-on and come in a bunch of colors! I know white denim is another hard item to recommend but I really loved the fit and feel of this pair. Plus the frayed bottom hem is a fun and edgy twist!
Sandals
Amazon is on fire with their sandal selection! Once again, I have shared these before. I bought these out of last minute desperation for Mexico thinking they would not last beyond the trip. They held up so well and were so comfortable. I love that they can dress up a basic outfit! If the bling is not your thing, this pearl version is a great option as well! I have these woven ones in white. They make for a great everyday classic sandal. Finally, I love this different spin on a traditional flip flop! Add these to your cart (and credit card!). Made from the Brazilian line, Ipanema , these rubber flip-slops have an adjustable cross tab. They are so comfortable and look great either at the beach or with an outfit!
Beach Accessories
Beach accessories are my favorite accessories! I bought this woven belt bag before I left for Mexico! It is perfect for keeping your valuables close to you when walking on the beach but also serves as cute purse at night too! Speaking of keeping items close, I like this simply accessory for keeping your sunglasses in place. I came across these Ray-Ban’s and love how they are outlined in blue. How cute is this beach blanket for an easy take on the go? This woven bucket bag adds a pretty statement to your look. I love the gauzy material and caftan style of this cover-up for staying cool and cozy at the beach or pool!
Tops
Summer knits, tank tops, tee and lace blouses! So many good tops out there right now! I love to mix and match them over swimsuits, maxi dresses and pair them with shorts and white denim! I turn to Everlane for stocking up on everyday basics each season and I am adding this tank into the mix. You know I love a great summer knit and I like this one over a swimsuit and this one for a cool evening paired with denim or shorts! Another long sleeved shirt option for day or night is this striped classic. Finally, I think this top is the prettiest shade of blue and such a lovely top for wearing with denim shorts during the day or white denim at night!
