Anyone else vacillating between two sets of footwear right now? I am either slipping my feet into a pair of slippers or into a pair of sneakers. And I cannot imagine embracing sandal season quiet yet. These feet need some tender loving care and I am just not the person to do it! So sneakers it is for the foreseeable future and I am looking to add a couple more pairs into the rotation!
No matter what the season though (and what condition your feet are in!), you know my love for wearing street style sneakers runs deep! They work with every season and just about any look! I need the pieces in my closet to be versatile. And that is why sneakers are hands down my favorite footwear.
Whether you collect them obsessively (hand raised here!) or you’re not sure if they are really your go-to footwear, I want to show you how they can elevate any look. They are a chic everyday shoe option-and the most comfortable one at that!
I think knowing what kinds of sneaker styles to wear with everyday outfits, takes a lot of the guessing work out of how to style them. My rule of thumb tends to be if you can work out in them, don’t wear them. Running shoes are great for athleisure wear and for hitting the gym but a little more tricky to pull off with an everyday outfit! Instead opt for a sneaker that is either leather, suede, canvas or retro in style!
*Note: I recommend these “no show socks” to wear with your sneakers.
I know over the years I have posted many outfits sporting my favorite footwear so I thought it would be a good idea to provide some visuals all in one spot with some style mood boards!

Jeans
It is my uniform: street style sneakers, a basic tee or button down and denim. You know I cannot get enough of good basics and I am always on the hunt for new key pieces. I am so happy that I recently discovered Mott + Bow. With premium basics at reasonable prices, their denim and tees are now some of the most comfortable items I own in my closet! I don’t love to travel in denim but these pair have my travel stamp of approval! Super soft but they still manage to hold their shape! As for the tees, they just fit right! Not too tight, not too baggy but just a flattering comfortable fit!
From there, you can add a blazer, knit sweater or cashmere cardigan! It is a look for running around town, a trip into the city or for travel. With strong basics and sneakers, you are pulled together yet comfortable!

Shorts
When sandals are not an option (like now!) there is nothing I love more in the summer then sneakers, denim shorts and a tee. Pair it with a summer knit for cooler days or nights. I have my eye on these retro Reebok sneakers for a summer sneaker refresh!

Maxi Skirt or Dress
I did a whole post here on how to style a maxi skirt, and wearing them with sneakers and a fitted cashmere sweater is one of my favorite looks! Pairing sneakers with a short denim skirt and puffy sleeved top is another fun look for spring and summer!
Whenever I think about what does street style look like, I immediately picture a maxi dress, paired with a leather jacket and sneakers. Heading downtown, or to LA or NY and this is a look you want to pack!

Joggers
It is perfectly acceptable now more then ever to wear joggers outside of the house! Pair them with a monochromatic top and sleek sneakers and this is my favorite travel look! Accessories can also add an extra touch of chic. Small gold earrings and a cashmere scarf can help complete this look.
