As you may recall, I went through a deep closet cleanse employing the Marie Kondo method of purging last month. I cannot tell you how wonderful it feels to walk in my closet each morning and get dressed. My closet has been stripped down to my most essential wardrobe pieces and it makes getting ready a breeze! I have rediscovered pieces I forgot I had and now have a better perspective on shopping for what I need. It has also provided better clarity as to how I want to continue to approach my personal style.
I know I shared with you in depth the methods to take to create a capsule wardrobe in this post here, specifically a navy capsule wardrobe in this post here. Since then, I thought I would share some additional key pieces I have added to make up a capsule wardrobe. As such, I want to provide an additional collage of my capsule wardrobe round-up. One that is more comprehensive than my previous post.
A capsule wardrobe is meant to be an everyday collection of core key pieces. While mine provides a general framework for you, the point is that you can tailor one to fit your own personal style. I also plan on creating a few seasonal capsules (spring up next!) with key pieces specific to that time of year.
Those key pieces I have added since my last capsule post are marked with an asterisk. I go into more detail as to why I incorporated them towards the end of this post!
Capsule Wardrobe Key Pieces (Revisited)
Wear it for travel, bundle up for a cold day or drape it over a dress. The options are endless and it adds the right touch of chic to your outfit every time.
There is a reason we have been wearing them our whole life! Throw it on over a summer dress or wear it with white denim. I prefer the vintage look of a lighter wash.
These really are the most versatile of the denim. They are perfect with a flat, heal, sneaker or ankle boot. I even like the hem turned up a bit when wearing them with booties.
I love my black Gucci belt but my wardrobe was missing one that could truly go with everyday outfits. I love the neutral tones of this one because it mixes perfectly with other neutrals as well. It especially looks great with white denim!
It took me awhile to get on board with these but now I am in love with them. I love one with denim, a belt and booties for a casual night out!
I have been playing around lately with one of these. A silk scarf or cotton bandana is a versatile accessory to have. Wear it in your hair, tie it around your wrist or loop it onto your bag!
Even if you wear a wedding ring, I love wearing an additional ring as well. The Missoma line of jewelry has a beautiful assortment of modern classic options.
Another rediscovery in an upstairs hanging bag, I forgot how far a camel coat can take you! Perfect to wear on dressier occasions or for throwing over your everyday denim, it is the perfect three season coat!
This classic shape never goes out of style! I personally think it is the most chic shape to own. I am a huge fan of this line. Expensive but no where near designer pricing!
Easy to thrown on and the perfect addition to any denim! Similar to the belt, I love this neutral tone that again serves white denim well too!
Overall, I am not much of an earring girl but boy do I love a pair of classic gold hoops. They go with everything and finish off any look perfectly.
When I first had a cell phone, my watch rarely made it on my wrist. Now it is one of my favorite everyday accessories to wear and Daniel Wellington is hands down my favorite designer!
A cotton pullover works in your wardrobe all year round! I especially love one to throw on with denim shorts. I am a HUGE fan of anything and everything from Everlane and this one is a great chunkier knit classic with a slightly boxy fit!
Thanks for stopping by!
