Have you done your homework yet? Have you taken inventory and added things to your Nordstrom wish list? Here’s the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
Are you still looking for things to add? If so, here are my top picks in some of my favorite categories!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Top Picks!
Coats/Jackets
If you live in Chicago, you can never have too many! Some of my closet staple jackets include a structured blazer; a leather, military and bomber jacket; and a puffer coat (which is a huge trend for fall and winter). If you are looking for further “on trends”, then consider a capelet-a fun combo twist of a blazer and cape. The one linked below from Nordstrom will be one of my first purchases! Velvet, shearling and menswear inspiration were all over the runways for Fall 2016 so I have linked some fun options in coats in those trends as well.
Handbags
Now is the time to go for the designer handbag. Chloe is by far my top choice for taking the plunge in this department. Saddle handbags continue to be a trend as well as anything in suede and leather. For an affordable, trendy and not over marketed or oversold handbag line, my top recommendation is Rebecca Minkoff. I always love the style, construction and colors of her bags. If you don’t want or need to put an investment in to any new handbag this season, then a fun update to yours is with a guitar inspired bag strap.
Shoes
Do you own a pair of rain boots? If not, grab a pair of Hunter’s. There is a nice variety of size and color options. They transition well into winter too as you can add a fuzzy sock to them. For an update on a tall boot, consider going over the knee. This will look great with your skinny denim, skirts and dresses. Again, if you can take the plunge, invest in a great pair of pumps or sling-backs. Manolo Blahnik never goes out of style and I am loving their options in velvet (trend alert!) this season. In the flat department, oxfords are on trend with menswear inspiration and Steve Madden and Loeffler Randall make some fun and feminine lace-ups!
On a side note, if you have questions on denim, leave them below in the comment section. Denim is so personal in terms of brand preference but I am happy to point you in the right direction with styles and brands I love for me and my body type!
Let me know what you have found so far and what you will be purchasing! I will be back with one more round-up once the sale starts!

Hi there! I always love to read what you like. You have such great taste! Just curious what denim you think would look good on me. 🙂

I have just looked at your blog for the first time today. I’m not trying to be negative right off the bat (I’m going to start reading your blog and follow you on Instagram) but many of the pretty items you listed here are not on sale. I was disappointed bc I really wanted them to be part of the markdown.
Your blog caught my attention bc, I too, am a navy lover. I’m so glad to see retailers take notice of those of us with a navy blue obsession and adding it into their yearly rotation. It used to be almost impossible to find a navy purse or shoes. Now look at the options we have! Thank you to all of them and you. I look forward to all your upcoming posts.
