A jumpsuit is so simple right? Just put it on and go! No worrying about what top am I going to wear with these jeans or do I need to wear pantyhose with this dress! It is perfect for a daytime look and yes, even for a black tie event. How ever you incorporate a jumpsuit into your wardrobe, here are some styling tips to consider! Let’s start by taking a look at the one I am wearing (available here).
Style Tips for Wearing Jumpsuits
Since I am so long waisted in the torso, this high waisted version is perfect for me. It elongates the legs yet the v-neck neckline helps to not cut off my torso entirely.
I love the wide leg on this jumpsuit. I am wearing a wrap sandal for a shoe but I would recommend a high wedge espadrille instead (love these in navy!) which helps give some added lift and elongation.
The chambray style lends to a more casual look and if I were to add a layer over this jumpsuit, I would pair it with this white eyelet bomber here or this cropped white denim jacket here or here.
The back details are a nice surprise to an otherwise simple piece and as usual, I keep all of my accessories simple. A pair of gold hoops, bangle and a statement clutch (mine here) wraps up this look.
Here are some additional style tips for other jumpsuits I love:
If wearing black or another solid color in a jumpsuit, add a wide statement gold belt (here for realistic and here for desire) and wide gold cuff (here) for a more glam look.
A statement necklace (here) or statement pair of earrings (here) makes this jumpsuit the perfect party outfit. I love this style for a petite frame too!
This well-structured jumpsuit is black tie appropriate with an embellished clutch (here) and shoes (here in silver). I love the idea of a white cape with this too (here).
For a more casual look, a cinched leg jumpsuit looks great with a pair of sneakers (here).
Layer a striped tee (here) under this jumpsuit for the ultimate street style look. Same with this one here.
Sneakers or a sandal are the obvious choice but to dress up this casual jumpsuit, add a great pair of pumps (blush ones here-yes them) and a blazer (here) or bomber jacket (like this long version here).
