It is a cult beauty favorite. The beauty tool of the moment. The pretty piece that looks perfect on your bathroom vanity. So what can this little gadget do for your skin? Well, a lot really.
The concept of using rose quartz as a beauty tool is nothing new. In fact, it is quite ancient. Egyptians believed that the rose quartz stone comes with miraculous anti-aging properties. It is an Egyptian legend that the Goddess Isis used rose quartz stones as facial massage stones to prevent wrinkles and keep her skin clear. Rose quartz was also revered by ancient Tibetan and Chinese cultures, its use dating back to the 7th century. Rose Quartz is believed to lower stress and balance emotions. Some even believe rose quartz possess powerful vibrations to heal the heart from sentiments of lost love, anger, resentment and jealousy.
Why now then is there a resurgence of such an ancient stone? Celebrity esthetician Angela Caglia has incorporated the use of rose quartz into her facial practice for years and clients go gaga over it. So she decided to launch her own version of the tool, and it is taking the beauty world by storm. I of course then had to try it too!
Like with any beauty product, a lot of words can be thrown out to outline its benefits: Improves elasticity, promotes cell turnover, boosts circulation, provides a brighter and healthier skin glow, just to name a few. I find that even if a couple of these benefits ring true for you though, it is worth the investment.
Using a Rose Quartz Roller
Upon receiving this product, I was head over heels with its beautiful packaging and sleek design. It really is a chic addition to your bathroom vanity! At first touch, it is immediately noticeable how naturally cool the rose quartz stone feels. I instantly felt this would be a great reprieve for tired eyes and puffy skin.
Similar to using a dry brush, I knew there was a right way to use this tool. This video from Angela Caglia is a must watch for knowing how to use and make the most out of the rose quartz roller. In general though, the roller should move in upward and outward strokes over your skin.
For me, I crave items that feel tactically stimulating on my skin. That’s why I love dry brushing so much! You can actually feel your blood cells awakening. And this tool does the same! How does that benefit you? Well with an increase of blood circulation and oxygen to the skin. That, coupled with the cooling effect of the stone, and my skin instantly feels rejuvenated and less puffy under the eyes.
The rose quartz roller can be used in the morning or at night either on its own or with your moisturizers, serums or oils. For the latter, the roller aids with pressing those products more firmly into the skin. Personally, I use it on its own in the morning, on freshly cleansed skin, and then follow up with the rest of my beauty care regime. It is also great to use on the often neglected neck area as well.
End result, my face and skin feels brighter, smoother and more invigorated. This tool makes for a perfect travel beauty companion too! For jet lagged, dehydrated and puffy skin and eyes, the roller is an instant skin soother in flight or immediately afterwards.
