Somewhere on this platform I indicated I was going through a major closet clean out. I am really trying to streamline my wardrobe. Even though I am usually careful about my purchases, I still have a tendency to purchase “disposable” items. Items I might pick up at Forever 21 with my daughter on occasion just because they have the $7.99 price tag! (Just to contradict myself, my favorite pair of $24 denim overalls are from there!). Two weeks later, I am sick of them. I just want to get to the point, where I walk into my closet, and get excited to put on anything I see in it.
For instance, when I pack for a vacation, I pull out my favorite pieces to bring with me. I get such satisfaction from hanging and folding those things in a hotel room and and then completely overwhelmed with my closet when I come home! I am trying to get away from that. Hence the deep clean!
Anytime you go through a closet clean, you are made aware of the things you consistently love to wear and the things that you don’t. For me, that is my denim, button downs, white tees, long jackets, and as of right now, anything animal print! You also realize the items that last and can be counted on time and time again as your great go-to pieces. I think most of us would agree that a cashmere sweater rarely leaves our closet shelf nor does it ever go out of style! Yet adding cashmere pieces to your wardrobe often comes with a hefty price tag.
Where to Buy Affordable Cashmere Sweaters
Wearing the Everlane Cashmere Waffle Crew in Light Oatmeal found here
Sure we can find good deals on cashmere but most of us know not all cashmere feels the same. Typically, the softer the cashmere, the more expensive it is. That’s because there are different grades of cashmere: A, B and C. Most retailers price their cashmere based on the grade. Grade A is the strongest and doesn’t pill as easily. Those are the ones I want but can’t always go for due to price. That is until I learned that Everlane offers grade “A” cashmere sweaters, at an affordable $100 price tag!
So how do they accomplish offering luxury cashmere at such an affordable price? The cost of cashmere fluctuates season to season. Recently there has been a global drop in the price of cashmere and Everlane responded by producing luxury cashmere at $100 price points!
I recently got two cashmere sweaters from Everlane for the first time-the Waffle Crew and the Shrunken Sweatshirt. I was very much impressed when they arrived! The structure, feel and fit were so good! These items will not be leaving my closet anytime soon!
Everlane has five styles on offer in $100 Cashmere. The rest of their affordable cashmere are all at price points not exceeding $155. There are options in waffle and ribbed textures; turtlenecks and button downs and color choices varying from your favorite neutrals to colors with punch!
