What to get our teenagers is another holiday challenge in our household. The days of scouring the internet for the “it” toy and running to Toys R’ Us for the latest Disney or Pixar theme obsession are (sadly) behind us. Nowadays, my children would be happy with a stocking full of gift cards. While they will definitely still find gift cards under the tree, it is still important that the magic of Christmas be under there as well. The element of surprise and unexpectedness is something I will always strive to capture!
Today I am sharing a gift guide for the teenager. Whether you have a boy or girl teenager, I hope both of these gift guides give inspirational ideas to help put a smile on your teenager’s face Christmas morning.
Gift Guide for the Guy Teenager
Flip-Flops: Not going lie, it’s all about the brand for our teenage boy. Vineyards Vines is a brand we can at least both agree on. These flip-flops are perfect for everyday or can even be used for dressier occasions.
Sleeping Bag: Use as a sleeping bag, blanket or throw, this is the original puffy print throw blanket that comes in other fun patterns.
Star Wars Socks: No matter what your age, Star Wars never goes out of style. I love these collection of Star Wars themed socks!
North Face Fleece: Rugged or preppy, pullover fleeces are a great fit and look for any guy.
Sneakers: Vans are the ultimate teenager shoe that are always on trend.
Tumbler: Perfect for coffee or water, everyone gets excited over anything Yeti!
Polaroid Camera: I am going to put this out there. Retro items from our generation might just be cool. Polaroids have made a comeback in a huge way! I know this camera will put a smile on their face! Compatible film here.
Grooming Kit: Kiehl’s is a brand that celebrates the guys as much as the girls! This is the perfect grooming kit!
Wireless Speaker: Take it to the beach, in the shower or on the boat, this wireless speaker is waterproof!
Gift Guide for the Girl Teenager
Instagram Book: Take it with a grain of salt but this book is a fun idea for the social media obsessed generation!
Fuzzy Sweater: What is more of a priority? To look cute or cozy? This plush pile sweater is the perfect marriage of both and comes in other colors.
Fuzzy Slippers: I LOVE THESE SLIPPERS. A little bit Tommy Hilfiger and a little bit Ugg but made by Emu and found at Free People. Size up at least one size (i.e. if a 7.5 order 9). They come in a bunch of colors.
Aroma Diffuser: This diffuser dispels soothing essential oil scents to help you sleep, evoke calmness or invigorate your weary teen. My son actually has this so do not hesitate giving it to a guy either!
Karaoke Microphone: Download a karaoke app on your smart phone and it is an instant fun girl’s night with this bluetooth karaoke microphone!
Power Charger: In our household, there are constant fights about whose has the charger. This kitschy one makes it pretty clear as to who it belongs too! It comes complete with USB charging cable.
Nightime Eye Care Kit: There is nothing like getting your beauty sleep. Late nights and tired eyes can be relieved with this fun eye care beauty set.
Faux Fur Bag: It has been faux fur everything lately so how cute is this faux fur tote for carrying books, for the gym or for travel!
Subscription Boxes for Teens
Another fun idea for teenager gifts are monthly subscription boxes. While they tend to favor girls more than guys, I have included options for both!
Birchbox-Make-up guru box for the girls
Harry’s Shave Club-Affordable and on trend shave club for the guys
Play by Sephora- For the Sephora obsessed girl
Say it With a Sock-Fun monthly subscription of socks
Tinker Crate-For teenagers who loves science, math and engineering
Uppercase-Young Adult book of the month club
