Welcome to the first Style Board post! Every month I will post a style collage that incorporates some key seasonal wardrobe pieces and current trends and show how they can be mixed and matched for maximum wear! In this collage, I have highlighted some early summer season pieces. Chicago weather is always unpredictable which usually means you will still need to be wearing a jacket or sweater in June, especially in the evening! I am absolutely in love with this faux leather jacket from Zara. (Should I tell you that I stole it from my daughter’s closet and that it is only $69?!) The color is perfect for this time of year and the quality of faux leather is some of the best I have seen.
June weather also might mean you may not quite have your summer glow yet so having a great maxi length dress and light wash denim on hand helps! BLANKNYC is one of my favorite denim lines for great quality denim under $100. Of course, you want to be wearing the hottest summer trends as soon as possible so I have made room for them too-an off the shoulder top, choker (but with a new twist-wink, wink!) and fringe earrings. As always, a neutral shoe works for it all!

Loving your blog! You have great style and your pictures are very classy and fun! Keep up the great work! Love the blue leather jacket and the off the shoulder top. Where is the jacket from? I’m originally from the Midwest….north Chicago burbs and Wisc! I’ve been living in the SF area for 30 years now….I don’t miss the snow. Just an FYI…..I’m in my 40’s and enjoy your blog and so does my 16 year old daughter! I hope you decide to do some travel posts as well. Must be nice having those airline perks! April 🙂

I will be doing more travel posts for sure although I do not like leaving Chicago in the summer. As you know, with our horrid winters, I live for this time of year here! P.S.
