It’s been in a minute since I last posted! I always seem to take an on-line break during the month of August. But it also seems most of my readers do too as traffic to the blog usually slows down during these last moments of summer. As we transition into another season, so will my content-fall style, fall entertaining and of course fall recipes! I even will get back to sharing meal plans as we start yet another new normal of routine as the school year gets under way! But what better way to ease back into it all, then with a round up of the five things I have been loving lately.
I hope you are all staying well and healthy and making the most of these remaining summer days. In the meantime, I am excited to share my recent favorites!
August Five Favorites
1. Timeless Sneaker from Everlane.
I used to find transitioning from one season to the next to be particularly daunting when it came to figuring out what to wear. Now though, I find that my favorite items in my closet are the ones I reach for during these in between months-knit sweaters, denim, tees and plenty of sneakers. I just love Everlane’s latest sneaker launch, the timeless classic. It really is just that: a classic style that will always be in fashion (with plenty of colors to choose from). And even though there is a beautiful indigo option, I chose the sycamore green which I find just perfect for this time of year! They run TTS!
2. Blueberry Galette.
If you caught me on Instagram stories this week, then you saw me whip up this simple blueberry treat borrowed from my friend Katie of Grace in the Crumbs. She is a professed non baker (but excellent cook!) and even she said it is the easiest, most delicious treat that anyone can make. She is right! Just buy the right pie crust (lol! If you also caught my on stories, you know I had to run out and buy another pie crust-Pillsbury!-because Trader Joe’s was a disaster) and the freshest in season berries! So simple and wickedly good!
3. Pinrose.
I am excited to share this recently discovered line of fragrances. I know, I know, the world of fragrances can often be a rabbit hole of endless choices and recommendations but what sets this line apart is the idea that our different moods, might inspire us to wear different scents throughout the weeks or months! As a result, instead of committing to full size bottles of a fragrance, you can have an array of personal fragrances at your disposal in the form of petal wipes. I took the scent quiz on Pinrose (so fun!) or you can purchase a discovery set to choose among your favorites! What is also great about these petals is their compatibility for your life on the go. So perfect for throwing in your purse, workout or travel bag!
Oh, and they have the most wonderful lines of candles. If you love the smell of roses, I highly recommend this one! Finally, I have a promotional code for you at checkout: use NAVY40 for 40 % off anything!
4. Tabletop Textiles.
Outdoor entertaining will continue well into the fall season over here! I am already starting to get some ideas for menus and tablescapes! I love the concept of draping textiles across the tables to serve as a sort of runner. Etsy has so many beautiful options but of course I am gravitating towards these beautiful selections of indigos.
5. J. Crew Knit Sweater.
I cannot resist a good knit sweater. The perfect layering piece for this time of year. Cue in the latest summer knit from J. Crew with the prettiest piping! I love this for tucking into a pair of denim shorts or throwing it on over a suit! It is a little on the thicker side making it another great option for transitional dressing!!
