You might notice that the weekly meal plan looks a little different this week! Instead of having a grocery list in the right-hand column, I now will incorporate a salad of the week and either an appetizer or dessert of the week! Previously incorporating the grocery list was yes, time-consuming, but it really was only useful to you if we’re making all five meals! Instead, in this Weekly Meal Plan Vol.3, I will share two ways to organize your grocery shopping for the week. One involving paper and pencil (my personal choice!) and the other involving an app!
Tips for Organizing Your Grocery List
Paper and Pencil
I think I will always be a paper and pencil gal! I still use a paper calendar, notebooks for jotting stuff down and I will hand write out my grocery list each week! It is extremely satisfying crossing things off as they get done! When I weekly meal plan, I use this meal prep and planning notepad! I like that it is organized by shopping category plus it has a column for writing down your weekly meals!
App
For those who want to keep organized on your phone, then the AnyList app is a great option! There are a lot of helpful customizable features! One aspect that I really love is the ability to import web recipes! From there, your ingredient list is readily available! The app is extremely user-friendly and provides easy step by step instructions for all its uses! By the way, I am laughing out loud because if you look closely, the age recommendation for this app is 4+. We got this!

Monday
P.F. Chang’s Lettuce Chicken Wraps. If you’ve been to P.F. Chang’s and have had their chicken lettuce wraps then you know this recipe is good as gold! For everyone else, trust me, this is a great one to have on hand for a very quick and delicious dinner. Personally, I omit the water chestnuts and additionally serve with steamed rice on the side!
Tuesday*
Rigatoni with Italian Sausage and Poeta’s Meat Sauce. It’s Robert’s golden birthday on Tuesday. So, of course, he gets to choose what he wants for dinner! He chose Poeta’s, a wonderful Italian market down the street from us. They have the best Italian sausage and pasta sauces. To the point where I never bother to make a red sauce because it is so easy to pick up their’s! So for all my local ladies, this is a great place to grab something quick for dinner. In addition to sauces, they have a freezer section filled with homemade Italian meals. And at the deli counter, an out of this world brick chicken to throw in the oven!
Wednesday
Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese. Nothing says comfort like creamy tomato soup and grilled cheese for dinner. I like this recipe for tomato soup because you can get away with using canned tomatoes instead of roasting and pureeing them yourself. And if you really want to make life easy, pick up a jar of Nordstrom’s creamy tomato soup for serving. It’s divine!
Thursday
Slow Cooker Pulled Pork. When I know our family has a busy night with a lot of comings and goings, I always defer to this recipe. Incredibly easy to put together, I am always amazed that just a few simple ingredients turns out something this good. Serve on brioche buns with a green salad on the side!
Sunday
Roasted Chicken with Crispy Chickpeas and Kale. When you think about what makes up a perfect Sunday night dinner, roasting a chicken has to come to mind! It is such an easy option to throw in the oven yet somehow manages to turn out so elegant. The chicken in this recipe turns out terrific but the real winners here are the crispy chickpeas and kale. I double up on both just so we can have extra!
Salad of the Week
Couscous Salad with Broccoli, Chickpeas, and Pesto. This salad is flavorful, hearty and a great base if you also want to add some protein! Using store bought pesto is perfectly acceptable too. And because I am now obsessed with roasting chickpeas, I choose to do that with them here!
Appetizer of the Week
Baked Feta with Olives, Thyme & Honey. My girlfriend and I were saying this week that we have a hard time coming up with creative and good appetizers to have on hand. So voila! I decided to add an appetizer to this week’s meal plan! I just made this for my girlfriends who came over this weekend and it turned out so good! Serve with french bread on the side!
Boun Appetit!
